Lindsay
Massage Therapist
Over my 15 years of treating clients in Hong Kong, and formerly a therapist at Sutherland Chan Centre, I have come to the conclusion that each client is unique and that I enjoy treating a wide spectrum of clients. Whether it be occupational stress, sports injuries, pre/postnatal conditions or general relaxation, I am able to curate a specialized treatment using various techniques.
Techniques
Throughout my treatment I tend to use a variety of techniques including “deep tissue” massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial techniques. I also like to incorporate stretching and gentle joint mobilizations when necessary. Lastly, I like to stress the importance of self-care and teach clients stretches and other exercises they can perform at home.
Clientele
I have a lot of experience working on your “typical” Hong Kong ailments, usually due to sitting for too long at a desk or general postural issues. Conditions such as low back pain and neck/shoulder pain are quite common and I find that the majority of my clients benefit from maintenance massage to keep these in check.
Additionally, I love working on pre- and post-natal clients as I have become a mom in the past couple of years and can relate to the conditions that arise during this rewarding, yet vulnerable, time.
My Approach to Care
After years of experience, I recognize that the benefits of massage go beyond just the physical. I like to take the time to get to know my clients’ overall goals. I try to customize each treatment to incorporate the areas of concern but I also ensure that clients leave feeling relaxed. I believe that the body and the mind need to be calm and in sync in order to maximize the benefits of massage.
Fun Facts about Me
I have been in Hong Kong for my entire professional life and truly love this vibrant city. I’m a fitness enthusiast and have played various sports including basketball, volleyball, baseball, and dragon boat. As a result, I have sustained several injuries over the years. I have also endured two pregnancies and am currently running after two little kids on a daily basis. My life experience has helped me to empathize with my clients so when I say “I feel your pain”, I really do!
